Wow. Just watching a BBC2 TV program (or programme as we would spell it!) on Grand Central Station, with Michael Portillo. He is doing a series on Great American Railways. What a piece of architect...

An excellent treatment of a much-loved book.

There are no Catholics in heaven just as there are no Baptists.

For those who don't know, Chesterton was a Roman Catholic. He was a fine writer, and I've enjoyed his fictional works, but couldn't recommend this work to believers.
Liz
Strongly agree, Zoe.

This is one book that I was unable to finish. Several years ago this book was loaned to me and at about a quarter way through, I had to return it. As I recall, it was bending my mind in a way that was torturous. Lately I've been drawn to take another shot at reading it.

Not talking about Catholic persons, talking about Catholic theology.
Miss Zoe Wee-Precious
So right, Liz. We are not judging a Person's salvation, only God can do that. We are to judge teaching though, and to be fruit inspectors.

Brannon was only saying in that video about Beth Moore this morning (on mwv, concerning the ecumenical church) that of course there are true believers in the RC church but they are on their way out of it, he said 'in a matter of days or months'.

While I don't agree with his theology - he was most certainly a brother !https://answersingenesis.org/ministry-news/ministry/tim-lahaye-passes-away/

SPECIAL PRAYER REQUEST FOR CARYL MATRISCIANA
As you know, veteran film-maker Caryl Matrisciana (also a Lighthouse Trails author) has been battling cancer f...

Shoot me down if you like but I feel sad to hear of 'excruciating pain'. I am sure Caryl has sought the Lord over this but I personally am not against taking pain-killing drugs for late-stage cancer. Hope the alternative treatment is sound but she is a very sound lady anyway....

Neither am I, but it is a har decision for some as it can slow and in some cases stop the heart, and my father, a pharmacist, didn't want to do it as he wanted to be lucid, and after he finally agreed he was pretty much out of his head. It just depends.
Miss Zoe Wee-Precious
I know in some cases it works well for people.

Have you ever done or said something really stupid and then afterwards realize that, that wasn 't very Christ-like? I really wish the Holy Spirit would speak to me and convict me BEFORE and not after!...
Liz
Maybe Rhonda meant praying that the situation might be redeemed in spite of what happened? Its a matter of self control very often and one just blurts something out without pausing first....
Miss Zoe Wee-Precious
That might be true, and agree the situation could be redeemed to the Lord's purposes. Also agree we sometimes blurt things out despite the Holy Spirit, but just feel when we receive real conviction or convincestness (made up word) He will lead us to repent. I know the Holy Spirit has spoken to me ...
Liz
I agree, Zoe.
Rachel Rebman
Pray that the Holy Spirit would give you big, red flags if you are about to say something you shouldn't. Pray you will literally bite your tongue before you say something bad as a signal not to say it.

Rebecca, of course I have-- we all have. Something God's been laying on my heart in many aspects is the very fact we're all sinful. You, me, people we can highly esteem, those we call our friends, etc. Ecclesiastes 7:20 states: Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never si...

** Oops! Also, must add that we forgive when someone repents, because Jesus forgave us-- the chief of sinners when we repented. He continues to forgive us when we repent for our sins each day. It's through repentance that we receive forgiveness of sins and God brings forth a heart to repent with Go...

My husband was at a grocery store in Alaska when a bunch of natives started yelling at him saying, "All white men should die!" Then one of them purposely walked up to him and bumped into him. Steven turned around and shrug his shoulders letting them know if they want to make something of it, he was ...

Maybe pray about sending a hand-written letter of humble apology to the manager? Doesn't have to be over-effusive, just sincerely and humbly apologise for the words you said and for (apparently) losing your temper. What does your husband think you should do - or doesn't he know? Praying for you....

PS I have liked your comment for its honesty and expression of regret, dear sister Rebecca.
Miss Zoe Wee-Precious
Very much liked for the same reason mentioned by Liz. Those misbehaving people would have been wrong no matter what the nationality of your family, but of course you were in the wrong, too. I do not think your husband would have been wrong for defending himself. Do wonder if it was the store mana...
